Railway Corridor 10 Focuses on Cargo Growth, Says Transport Minister
In an interview with TV Sitel, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Aleksandar Nikoloski, highlighted the primary objective of the railway freight Corridor 10: the movement of cargo. The minister stated that all implemented policies and measures are geared towards increasing cargo transport volumes in alignment with projected freight forecasts and to solidify Macedonia’s strategic role within railway transport. Nikoloski emphasized the positive trend observed in early 2024, noting a significant 23 percent growth in rail freight transport during the first months of the year.
He cited data from JŽ Transport, indicating a 23 percent decrease in cargo volume and a 18 percent decrease in finance within the same period. Further information was relayed by Ivanovski, Director of the MŽ Infrastructure, who presented subsequent key developments. The minister underscored the importance of these figures as a direct result of investments made within the Corridor 10 project.
The focus remains firmly on bolstering cargo transport capabilities and establishing Macedonia’s position as a vital link in European transport networks.
