“Stop for Us” Group Expresses Concerns Over New Permit for Ceterarnica in Usje
Skopje, North Macedonia – The “Stop for Us” initiative staged a protest march yesterday in Skopje, drawing attention to what they perceive as a discrepancy in the upcoming permit process for the Ceterarnica facility in Usje. The group argues that the planned integrated permit will not adhere to the recently enacted regulations governing the sector. “Stop for Us” contends that the permit’s issuance will follow outdated procedures, rather than the new law currently in effect for similar operations.
The organization’s protest, which commenced at the Assembly and concluded at the Ministry of Livestock, aimed to highlight this issue. According to the group, they lack confidence that the permit for “Usje” will be granted under the legal framework intended to take effect in 2027. They assert that the Ministry’s scope of application has been altered, creating uncertainty regarding the approval process.
“Stop for Us” representatives stated their intention to continue advocating for the implementation of the new regulations and ensuring a fair and transparent permit system for the Ceterarnica facility. The group’s actions underscore ongoing concerns about regulatory changes within the livestock sector.
