SDSM Criticizes Proposed Gathering, Claims Miskovski’s Sole Creation of Government
Skopje – The Social Democratic Party of Macedonia (SDSM) has strongly criticized a planned gathering announced for June 1st, asserting that it is not a legitimate mandate for the government and that citizens do not need to endorse the Reform Agency’s 10 points. The party contends that the government was established solely by former Prime Minister Nikola Miskovski and no other individuals. Speaking on May 31st, an SDSM spokesperson stated that Miskovski came to power with promises including the implementation of the Reform Agency’s 10 points by June 1st, the potential annulment of the Prespa Treaty, and anticipated increases in foreign investment alongside improvements to the standard of living.
The party also voiced significant concerns regarding accusations leveled against the ruling VMRO-DPMNE party, specifically alleging the undermining of the Macedonian language, culture, and national identity. SDSM argues that the gathering is an unfulfilled promise stemming from Miskovski’s initial claims. The party maintains that the current administration was built entirely himself.
This development comes as a response to the announced gathering, which SDSM views as an attempt to garner support for the government’s policies.
