SДСМ Accuses Ruling Party of Neglecting Agricultural Sector
Skopje – The Social Democratic Party (СДСМ) has issued a statement criticizing the current government’s handling of the agriculture sector, alleging significant deterioration over the past two years. The statement, delivered on June 15, 2026, at 10:02 a.m., centers on concerns regarding the role of landowners and the government’s impact on agricultural businesses. The СДСМ party claims that subsidies have been decreased by 40 million euros and that the minimum wage for agricultural employees has experienced a 46 percent reduction.
These changes, according to the party, have exacerbated existing problems within the sector. Specifically, СДСМ highlights the challenges facing dairy farming, citing a crisis driven by a substantial decline in milk prices. The party reports a more than 30 percent decrease in the average price of milk, arguing that intervention is now necessary.
The СДСМ asserts that landowners, who hold significant influence within the agriculture landscape, have not fulfilled commitments made during the previous administration. The party’s criticism focuses on the perceived negative impact on the sector’s stability and the livelihoods of those involved. The СДСМ continues to advocate for revised policies to address the current situation within agriculture, with landowners being a key point of contention.
