Rama says: ALBANIA SHOULD NOT BE BULGARIAN

Albanian Prime Minister Edip Rama addressed students attending the “RinCamp 2026” event in Jale, emphasizing Albania’s commitment to the progress of Macedonia within the broader European context. During his address, Rama stated that should Albania become a member of the European Union, the country would refrain from vetoing any plans concerning Macedonia’s integration process. Rama criticized the use of the veto power during the expansion of the European Union, characterizing it as a mechanism that hinders integration efforts and serves no constructive purpose.

He asserted that Albania does not possess a veto power that can be wielded against any nation. According to the Prime Minister, Albania maintains a comprehensive interest in seeing Macedonia advance toward its potential. He highlighted a shared goal of fostering unity among the people of Macedonia, which is the central topic of ongoing discussions.

Furthermore, Rama strongly stated that the European Union itself should not hold the right to veto Macedonia’s path forward. The statements underscore Albania’s diplomatic stance, positioning the nation as supportive of regional stability and adherence to European integration standards. By clarifying that Albania will not impede Macedonia’s development, Rama sought to reassure observers regarding the country’s commitment to regional cooperation and adherence to the principles of European enlargement.
