The Municipality of Skopje announced on Monday, July 13, 2026, that it will commence a tertiary disinsection effort targeting established mosquito populations throughout the municipality. This comprehensive disinsection program is scheduled to take place from July 13, 2026, through Thursday, July 16, 2026. The treatments are planned to occur nightly, running from 10:00 PM to 3:00 AM.
The municipality stated that the disinsection will proceed on the first afternoon available once favorable time conditions permit the execution of the measures. Local beekeepers were notified in advance to enable them to implement necessary precautions for the protection of bee colonies during this period.
