The Ministry of Internal Affairs has introduced a new mobile web application named “Safe City.” In its initial phase, the platform focuses on the registration of all foreign nationals and owners of vehicles bearing foreign license plates operating within the country. This new system provides foreign vehicle owners with enhanced capabilities, allowing them to verify the recording procedures of various surveillance cameras across the nation. Furthermore, the application offers direct access to traffic fines, enabling electronic payment for accumulated penalties.
The process for registration has been streamlined into a single, straightforward step. To access the platform, the vehicle owner simply needs to log in by clicking or scanning their identification document and subsequently entering the registration number of the vehicle operating in Macedonia. The implementation of the “Safe City” app aims to simplify compliance for non-residents.
By centralizing access to traffic violation information and payment options, the system intends to alleviate concerns regarding unexpected debts and the need for multiple physical checks for foreign vehicle operators. This digital overhaul represents a significant modernization of traffic management and compliance procedures within the country.
