Certificate of Destruction Issued Following Skopje Embassy Incident

Skopje – Following an incident involving the burning of two diplomatic vehicles at the embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria on June 15th, authorities have presented a certificate of destruction for the vehicles. The Special Representative of the Government in Skopje (SRSG) cleared the case and authorized the destruction to mitigate any potential risk. The incident was initially reported on June 17th at 8:21 a.m.

Yesterday, the Criminalistics Department – Center and Bit Pazar in Skopje presented a certificate of destruction related to the investigation. This followed suspicions that the incident was linked to a previously reported case. During the investigation, key material evidence was destroyed, including video surveillance footage from multiple locations and clothing worn by the suspected individual.

Police records indicate that the destruction was undertaken to address concerns regarding the availability of evidence. The SRSG’s clearance and subsequent certificate of destruction signify the conclusion of the immediate investigation into the burning of the diplomatic vehicles in Skopje.
