MUP Reports Extensive Traffic Control Measures Over Past Month
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) has announced significant enforcement activity over the past month, resulting in substantial sanctions related to traffic violations. Over the course of the period, a total of 238 vehicles have been seized and 16,885 detentions have been issued. Intense police controls were conducted by personnel from all sectors of internal affairs, focusing on a range of offenses.
Speeding violations accounted for the largest number of sanctions, with 4,473 recorded. Parking without a permit also contributed significantly, with 3,851 violations addressed. Furthermore, 920 vehicles were seized for the use of mobile phones while operating the vehicle.
The MUP highlighted specific legal provisions enforced during this period. Seventy vehicles were sanctioned under Article 297 of the Krivošino Act, which pertains to the mandatory operation of a motor vehicle. Data indicates a total of 16 days of detention have been issued.
