Mitchoski Addresses Bulgaria Relations During Textbook Promotion
Skopje – Prime Minister Xristian Mitskoski attended the promotion of printing textbooks at Primary School “Ljuben Lape” in the Aerodrom Municipality today. He responded to questions from journalists regarding the ongoing relationship with Bulgaria and the progress of European integration. Mitskoski stated that while he anticipates positive developments in bilateral relations within the context of EU accession, recent signals from Sofia have not provided grounds for optimism.
Responding to a specific inquiry about anticipated progress in negotiations with Bulgaria, he indicated that the situation, in his assessment, is continuing to escalate. “I do not anticipate that,” Mitskoski said. “The signals coming from there do not make me optimistic; rather, the situation is radicalizing.”
He cited a recent diplomatic note issued by Bulgaria concerning the Prime Minister’s wife and son’s visit to Pamporovo as an example.
The note, he indicated, further underscored his concerns. The Prime Minister’s comments reflect a cautious approach to the dialogue with Bulgaria as the country seeks to advance its European integration aspirations. The exchange highlights ongoing tensions surrounding the bilateral relationship.
