Prime Minister Mitsoski stated that the water situation in Gostivar is expected to improve following a comprehensive flushing of the municipal system. He indicated that the immediate focus is on flushing the network to ensure that the water reaches normal chlorine parameters and becomes suitable for technical use. According to Mitsoski, the initial phase of this effort anticipates that water meeting technical standards will be available in Gostivar by the end of this week.
He noted that specialized teams from Skopje’s “Vodovod” (Waterworks) and various experts are currently on site to facilitate this process. The broader plan, Mitsoski explained, aims for the water quality to reach potable (drinkable) standards by the end of the following week. He expressed confidence in the process, emphasizing that the necessary infrastructure work is actively underway.
Mitsoski confirmed that the necessary steps involve a complete cleaning of the water system to restore optimal chemical balance. The administration is closely monitoring the efforts of the technical teams to ensure that the timeline remains on track. Citizens are advised that the phased improvement means that while technical water use is expected shortly, the full return to reliable drinking water requires adherence to the established schedule.
The commitment from local and national experts is aimed at resolving the current supply issues until the system reaches full operational capacity.
