Milanov: The lack of prosperity has not been violated, but the scammers have been deceived – the following are to be more severe punishments for the operators

FVA to Publish Milk Production Declarations and Initiate Meat Analysis Results

The Food and Veterinary Agency (FVA) will announce a list of companies submitting milk production declarations next week. Simultaneously, starting Monday, the agency will release the results of analyses conducted on meat processing products. FVA Director Oliver Milanov stated that while late declarations regarding products such as milk, cheese, paneer, yogurt, and related items do not pose an immediate threat to producers, concerns remain regarding compromised quality and instances of fraudulent practices.

Milanov acknowledged that current fines levied against operators with delayed declarations are relatively low. The agency is actively working on amendments to the law governing inspections. One proposed change involves implementing stricter penalties for companies found to be manipulating production standards.

Discussions are underway to consider a period of three-year prosecution for companies responsible for significant instances of fraud. “We are committed to ensuring the integrity of the food supply,” Milanov commented. “These revisions aim to deter future violations and reinforce accountability within the industry.” The FVA continues to emphasize the importance of timely declarations and adherence to quality standards.

  1. This increased oversight and accountability regarding food production seems like a necessary step to protect consumers.
