Ministry of Finance Announces Full Repayment of 2020 Eurobond

The Ministry of Finance (MFA) announced today, June 2, 2026, at 16:01, that the entirety of the 2020 eurobond has been fully paid. The issuance, totaling 700 million euros, was originally scheduled for repayment in 2026. The total cost associated with servicing the eurobond was 327.9 million euros.

This comprised 316.3 million euros for the principal amount and 11.6 million euros in interest payments. Significant progress was made in the repayment process. On December 31, 2025, the final payment of 383.7 million euros was made, representing one-third of the total eurobond.

A further advance payment of 383.7 million euros was executed in February 2026, bringing the total amount paid to date to the full 700 million euros. The remaining one-third of the eurobond, amounting to 383.7 million euros, will be serviced and paid out in full by the end of 2026. This completes the repayment schedule for the 2020 eurobond.
