Culture and Tourism Minister Zoran Lyutkov provided an update during a daily press conference concerning the recovery of the tourism sector. According to Lyutkov, the industry has demonstrated substantial recovery in the months following its takeover on June 26, 2026. He reported significant financial improvements, noting that revenues decreased from 200 million dinars in 2023 to 186 million dinars in the current year, representing an increase exceeding 200 percent.
Lyutkov attributed this positive trend to strategic efforts, including the development of new markets realized through close collaboration with the private sector. To sustain this momentum, the ministry is actively planning international outreach. Preparations are underway for roadshows and B2B meetings scheduled in Germany, Spain, and Finland.
Furthermore, the Minister highlighted the growing interest in the region, specifically mentioning the relevance of the “New Deal of Europe” in London. Beyond these major European destinations, preparatory activities and intensive communication efforts are being directed toward tour operators in Holland and Poland. These initiatives underscore a commitment to expanding the global reach of the tourism sector.
The Minister emphasized that these multi-faceted efforts are designed to solidify the industry’s footing and ensure continued growth in the coming months.
