HOSTELERS OF THE YEAR DRINK WATER WITH BACTERIA – Accused of VMRO-DPMNE

The VMRO-DPMNE party has publicly questioned the credibility of Veno Filipčev, the former leader of SDSM and former Minister of Health, concerning the management and funding of public health initiatives. The party centered its allegations on repeated failures in the safety monitoring of public water sources. Specifically, VMRO-DPMNE pointed to microbiological analyses conducted in Gošterav.

The party cited reports from November 2020, as well as subsequent tests in February and March 2021, which indicated that the local water supply did not meet established legal criteria for safety. Furthermore, the allegations highlighted a recurring pattern of concern, noting that similar instances of bacteriological contamination were documented in 2022 and 2023. According to the information presented by the opposition, the relevant institutions at the time failed to implement necessary corrective measures despite the repeated identification of water quality deficiencies.

The VMRO-DPMNE party accused the former minister and subsequent administrations of neglecting these critical public health warnings. The party demanded that Filipčev and the subsequent authorities provide a detailed explanation regarding the inaction taken when the water quality issues were first detected and why these contamination problems continued to recur over several years. The focus of the accusation remains on institutional oversight and the failure to adequately address persistent risks to the community’s water supply.
