The agreement was signed in Brussels, three years ago, at the time of the end of the geopolitical uncertainty caused by trade disputes, restrictions on the movement of goods and military conflicts in Ukraine and the Caucasus, as reported by Roter. The agreement on digital trade was supplemented by the existing agreement on free trade between the EU and the South Caucasus, which was signed in force in 2011. The new agreement provides for the opening of the customs border for the submission of declarations, mutual recognition of electronic contracts and electronic signatures, as well as the introduction of joint rules for the protection of data processors in the digital environment.
