Two Men Sentenced to Five Years for House Fire in Nevilovo

The main court in Veles has convicted Gjore Petrovski, of Oreše near Čaška, and Daniel Dimovski from Prilep, following a trial related to the burning of a house in the village of Nevilovo. The verdict, announced on June 5th, 2024, stems from a criminal case linked to the “thetski cases against the opština security.”

The prosecution presented evidence leading to the conviction of Petrovski and Dimovski for the arson of the property belonging to David Jordanov, a resident of Skopje. The case, complicated by three separate indictments, involved allegations of criminal activity against the local opština security.

Sentencing will commence on May 16th, 2025, with the two men facing a five-year prison term. This period will be served starting from that date, as determined by the court. The conviction represents the conclusion of the primary legal proceedings in the case.

Further investigation and potential legal action related to the remaining indictments are ongoing.
