The maximum fine issued during these checks reached 73 euros. Following these findings, Greek authorities are currently reviewing potential adjustments to the penalty structure. Specifically, consideration is being given to a significant reduction in fines related to the unauthorized occupation of beach areas, the placement of temporary beds, and the establishment of children’s areas beyond permitted zones.
Furthermore, the scope of the inspections includes reviewing adherence to regulations governing coastal crossings. These regulatory checks are being performed by the state property services department under the Ministry of National Economy and Finance. The process incorporates public participation, allowing citizens to submit reports either in person or via telephone to assist in the ongoing monitoring efforts.
