CARGO WAGON WAGON IN SKOPJE – The city’s carriages start on September 1

The reconstruction of the railway station in Skopje, encompassing the line from Dračevica to Ilinden, has been completed, necessitating the redirection of overland transport from Skopje. This integrated development is expected to improve the overall organization and advancement of the transport system. Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikolić stated that testing has commenced on the overhauled infrastructure.

The successful overhaul includes the modernized railway station in Grado and the entire railway line connecting Dračevica and Ilinden. Nikolić noted that the overland transport route between Grado and Ilinden will now assume the function previously managed by the railway line in that segment. Accompanying Nikolić was Director of Infrastructure for Železnice Infrastruktura, Sinisa Ivanovski, who participated in the final testing and overhaul procedures.

According to Nikolić, the execution of this comprehensive project is anticipated to yield significant benefits, particularly in environmental protection and the reduction of vehicular traffic within the city. The revitalization of the railway infrastructure in Skopje represents a major upgrade to urban mobility. By integrating modern station facilities with improved rail lines, authorities aim to create a more efficient public transit network.

The adjustment of overland routes complements the upgraded railway, ensuring smoother connectivity across the region.
