Brnabić: We Serbs have not had any Rusyns

Former Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic addressed several topics in an interview with Euronews, focusing on the experiences of the Serbs, the path to EU membership, and preparations for the Belgrade EXPO 2027. Regarding international relations, Brnabic stated that the Serbs have not had to confront Russians within Serbian territory, while also expressing support for Ukraine concerning the ongoing conflict. The discussion also covered the frustrations felt by the Serbs regarding perceived double standards in the process of joining the European Union.

Brnabic addressed these systemic issues as part of her commentary on Serbia’s integration efforts with the bloc. Furthermore, the former Prime Minister spoke about the significant preparations underway for the EXPO 2027, which is scheduled to take place in Belgrade. The interview took place when Brnabic, alongside the Minister of Internal Affairs Marko Mrkić and the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali, were addressing a conference.

This event was dedicated to discussions concerning the Serbian economy, accession negotiations with the European Union, and the preparations for the 2027 exposition. In summary, Brnabic, said, that while Serbia navigates its economic and EU accession goals, the focus remains on domestic readiness for major international events like the EXPO 2027.
