AVIO BUM IN MACEDONIA: Growth of over 30% in the number of passengers in five months

Skopje and Ohrid Airports See Record Passenger Growth in 2026

The Macedonian International Airport of Skopje and the Airport of St. Apostle Paul Ohrid, operated by TAV Macedonia – a member of the ADP Group – are experiencing significant growth in passenger numbers. Data released for the first five months of 2026 reveals a substantial increase in air traffic across both airports.

Over the period from January to May, the two airports served 1,580,932 passengers, representing a 31.2% rise compared to the same timeframe in 2025. This equates to a considerable increase in the number of individuals traveling through Macedonia. Simultaneously, the number of flights operating from these locations increased by 9.5% during the same period.

The growth aligns with broader European air traffic trends, as highlighted in an analysis by the International Council of Airports – Europe (ACI Europe). ACI Europe’s report specifically noted the 31.2% passenger increase at both the International Airport of Skopje and the Airport of St. Apostle Paul Ohrid.

TAV Macedonia continues to manage these key transportation hubs, contributing to the ongoing development of air travel within Macedonia.
