Foreign Minister and Minister of European Affairs, Tihomir Mutsunski, stated that Macedonia should be afforded appropriate consideration and recognition for its full membership within the European Union. Speaking to “Belisle Pleibuq” on “Politiko,” Mutsunski expressed the sentiment among citizens that the current status quo is no longer acceptable. Regarding the path to integration, Mutsunski commented on the concept of constitutional amendments, suggesting that the discussion had become politically fraught.
He indicated that numerous artificial positions had been established, and he voiced concern that Bulgaria might introduce further obstacles. “Yes, we are sometimes very frustrated because of the lack of political results,” Mutsunski added. He characterized the situation as one where the ground has become an “opportunity for study,” noting that certain elements risk impeding the process of European Union integration.
Mutsunski implied that the pressure exerted by other candidate nations is a factor in the current diplomatic environment.
