Daily cross-border movements into and out of Macedonia are showing a notable increase in tourist traffic, according to the latest figures released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Data indicates that the daily flow of tourists from Macedonia has risen by approximately 17,000 people. Furthermore, movement across the Macedonian border with Greece saw about 16,000 people enter Macedonia during the previous day.
The intensity of travel was evident at the major border crossings of Gevgelija and Dojran, where officials reported that vehicles were arriving significantly earlier than anticipated. At Star Dojran, for instance, a kilometer-long column was observed in the last few hours, confirming the high volume of activity across the border. The Ministry of Internal Affairs provided specific operational details regarding the “Bogoroditsa” crossing.
As of noon, the data showed that 5,864 Macedonian citizens entered the country from the previous day to the current day, while 5,948 citizens departed. Additionally, the Ministry reported the number of foreign nationals who entered the country during the period leading up to noon. Overall, the official statistics confirm a period of intense movement along the border.
