Dozens of patients are currently receiving treatment at the Infectious Diseases Clinic following confirmed cases of West Nile fever. According to the clinic’s director, Dr. Fadil Can, the facility is managing a significant influx of cases, with several individuals requiring intensive care.
Of the current caseload, two patients are in critical, life-threatening conditions and are presently receiving mechanical ventilation support. These hospitalized patients are primarily aged between 66 and 76 years old, and they are being monitored closely within the Intensive Care Unit. Health authorities are also maintaining close observation of three other patients who remain in the infectious stage of the illness.
These individuals presented with symptoms indicative of acute inflammation affecting both the brain and the spinal cord. Samples collected from these patients have undergone rigorous analysis at the Institute of Public Health to confirm the diagnosis. Dr.
