The Prosecution: The former director of the ZOR was awarded a prize for over 2.5 million dinars

The director of the Ministry of Public Administration and Coordination (MPA) faces accusations of abuse of office and falsification of service, according to the prosecution. The charges allege the unjustified use of ministry assets, including official aircraft, service travel documentation, and service cards, which the authorities claim has resulted in a financial loss of 2,562,139 dinars, equating to approximately 41,610 euros. A young prosecutor has filed an indictment against the director in connection with an ongoing criminal case.

The charges brought forth include Abuse of Office and Misuse of Authority, citing Article 353 of the Criminal Code, and Falsification of Service under Article 361 of the same Code. In the indictment, the prosecutor stated that the accused, who assumed the role of director on July 3, 2024, allegedly abused the ministry’s authority. Furthermore, the filing claims that the director interfered improperly with internal service management procedures and acted without legitimate grounds for service dismissal.

The prosecution’s actions indicate a formal investigation into the proper use of public resources by high-ranking officials. The focus remains on whether the director’s actions constituted a misuse of authority and whether the expenditures related to the service were improperly documented. The case is now proceeding through the legal system based on the charges brought by the prosecution.
