Ministry of Transport Responds to SDSM Criticism of Data Center Development
Skopje – The Ministry of Transport issued a statement today in response to a recent press conference held by the Social Democratic Party of Macedonia (SDSM) regarding the planned development of a state-of-the-art data center. The SDSM’s press conference, which the opposition party actively opposes, generated considerable criticism from the Ministry. Responding to the concerns raised, the Ministry emphasized the necessity of adhering to all technical specifications and legal requirements for the data center’s construction.
They highlighted the importance of conducting comprehensive studies and utilizing qualified expertise throughout the project. The Ministry argued that investments in data centers are a significant driver of economic growth, mirroring similar developments across Europe and the United States, which have seen billions of euros invested in related technology and intellectual capacity. They asserted that the development of such infrastructure is a key component of modern state development.
Specifically, the Ministry pointed out that comparable projects in developed nations consistently demonstrate the positive impact of data center construction on technological advancement and national competitiveness. Further details regarding the project’s scope and anticipated benefits are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
