Zelený: Ukraine is proactively attacking objects that Russia uses in the war

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine is executing preventive strikes against military assets utilized by Russia. During an evening address, Zelensky announced that Kyiv is targeting specific objects within central and southern Russia with the objective of compelling Moscow to engage in negotiations. “We have directed our intelligence services and military forces to take proactive measures against the objects that Russia employs for reconnaissance related to its military operations,” Zelensky stated.

Recent incidents have included the interception of Ukrainian drones over Crimea, an area currently under Russian control. Despite this, Kyiv has maintained its offensive actions, directing attacks against key infrastructure in central and southern Russia. These strikes have notably focused on refineries and energy facilities, continuing as the fuel crisis within Russia deepens.

The strategy outlined by the Ukrainian presidency involves preemptively degrading Russia’s military capacity and logistical support by striking critical objects. These actions are presented by Kyiv as a means to exert pressure on Russia, thereby compelling the Russian Federation to enter into diplomatic discussions regarding the conflict. The focus remains on degrading the operational capabilities of Russia’s military apparatus across various regions.
