Twenty-four young people from the Western Balkans are scheduled to participate in a four-day program focused on the presentation of legends, cultural heritage, and intercultural exchange. The event will take place from August 24th to the 28th in the cities of Struga and Ohrid. The initiative aims to engage young individuals aged 18 to 29 hailing from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia.
Over the course of the program, the participants will engage in specialized workshops and practical activities designed to enhance their skills in presenting contemporary legends. The curriculum is structured to provide students with comprehensive knowledge of diverse storytelling techniques. A core focus will be placed on understanding the narrative structure required for effectively presenting rich cultural heritage.
Beyond traditional storytelling, the young people will also undertake practical training in modern mediums, including photography and visual storytelling. The program emphasizes intercultural exchange, providing a platform where participants can collaborate and share narratives from their respective regions. This combination of artistic training and cultural immersion seeks to foster a deeper understanding among the people from the region regarding their shared cultural roots and modern presentation methods.
The overall goal is to empower the next generation of cultural narrators from the Western Balkans.
