Autobahn Construction Progress Signals Economic Boost for Polog Region
Aleksandar Nikolovski, during a visit by the Municipality of Mogila, highlighted the significant importance of the ongoing construction of the Prilep-Bitola autobahn for the development of the entire Polog region. Officials announced that the initial kilometers of the roadway are slated to reopen to traffic next spring. Nikolovski emphasized the project’s anticipated impact, stating his goal is for the new autobahn district to facilitate improved planning, enhanced transport infrastructure, and the creation of new economic opportunities across the region.
“The dynamics of the construction of the Prilep-Bitola autobahn are excellent,” he noted. “We are operating at a consistent pace, with a focus on minimizing accidents.”
The anticipated reopening of the first kilometers is expected to positively impact movement and economic activity, extending benefits beyond Prilep and Bitola. Specifically, the project is anticipated to stimulate growth in municipalities such as Mogila, Novač, Resen, and Demir Hisar.
Nikolovski added that the improved connectivity will contribute significantly to the livelihoods of residents within these communities.
