Investigations following the fire at the Pulse disco in Kochani uncovered concerning details regarding the emergency response and the condition of the venue. According to reports, firefighting efforts were reportedly inadequate, with the fire allegedly not having been fully extinguished for an extended period. Furthermore, some accounts suggest that the actions taken by emergency personnel may have exacerbated the situation.
The venue, which had a stated capacity of 363 people, was reportedly overcrowded during the critical evening, hosting over 600 visitors. A firefighting expert, Professor Goran Markovski from the Gradec faculty of the UCM, criticized the conditions inside the establishment. Professor Markovski stated that the air quality was severely compromised, noting that the internal temperature remained excessively high.
He indicated that no measures were implemented to mitigate the fire risk or its effects. Instead, he argued that certain actions served only to increase the temperature and render the venue uninhabitable. Professor Markovski further suggested that the facility should have been relocated to the Gradec faculty.
These revelations raise questions about safety protocols and crowd management at the location.
