(Video) WONDERFUL CONTROL IN THE MENTHETEN CENTER – 37 people evacuated due to cracks

Several streets in Menheten, Njuorq, were temporarily evacuated following reports that a structure undergoing renovation exhibited signs of instability. During a press conference, City Mayor Zohran Mamdani addressed the concerns, noting visible structural issues within the site. Mamdani stated that initial observations revealed concerns such as twisted chair legs, alongside numerous floor cracks and indentations.

He indicated that the building presented signs of instability, adding that upon arrival at the site, workers observed movement in one of the weakened structural elements. The mayor expressed relief that, despite the serious nature of the situation, no injuries or damages were reported among the workforce. He confirmed that engineering teams are actively working to assess the structure and are proceeding according to schedule to resume work on the building.

However, the assessment was met with a differing perspective from the project’s investor. According to statements released by the project’s portfolio, the investor disputed the severity of the danger, asserting that the concerns did not indicate that the entire building was at risk of failure. The area remained evacuated as engineers conducted thorough safety evaluations following the initial reports.
