Dion Hili tendered his resignation from the Ministry of Finance for the acquisition of Great Britain, accusing him of not being able to properly finance Plan for Investments in the acquisition (DIP). In a letter to Starmer, Hili pointed out that the Prime Minister “was not in a position, and the Ministry of Finance was not able to stop them from spending the resources that the nation needed to acquire the land at that time of heightened threats,” DPA reported. Hili pointed out that in the Monday meeting, they had reached a financing agreement for DIP that was “much less than what is needed,” with an additional support that would be in place until 2030 when “the imperative to prepare for the acquisition is in the first two years.” “Since you informed me that I could not sign the agreement for DIP that they did not give them to our forces needed,” Hili said.
