The start of the capacities: TWO NEW TERENSKY WAGONS FOR THE TIMES OF THE DZS

The Directorate for Security and Salvage (DZS) has recently acquired two new 4×4 terrain vehicles. According to the DZS press service, these vehicles are designated for use outside of standard emergency response scenarios, specifically noting that they will not be utilized for interventions during floods, forest fires, or other natural and technical disasters, nor for activities related to cross-border cooperation with partner institutions. The procurement of this specialized equipment was financed through the “Volunteer 2” (VOLUnteer II) project.

This initiative received critical support and financial assistance from the European Union, alongside various partner institutions based in Greece. The DZS stated that this funding has significantly bolstered the operational capacities and overall mobility of the Directorate’s teams. The primary objective of this enhancement is to ensure a more effective and robust response capability during unforeseen emergency situations.

This acquisition aligns with the broader strategic goals of the ongoing “On the Move” (ON THE MOVE) project, which aims to modernize and enhance the logistical readiness of the DZS personnel. The integration of these assets is expected to improve the Directorate’s operational reach and support its mission mandate.
