The Serbian team set a record at the World Championship!

Macedonian Football Team Earns First World Cup Point Against Ecuador

The Macedonian national football team secured their first-ever point at the FIFA World Cup, drawing 0-0 against Ecuador. This historic result marks a significant milestone for the team. The goal was scored by Eloj Rum, the team’s Serbian-born goalkeeper, who previously held the record for the most saves made in a single World Cup match – a remarkable 15.

Rum achieved a Soccer rating of 10 following this performance. Rum’s debut with the Macedonian national team occurred in a match against Cuba in 2015, representing his first appearance with the squad. He has since joined the team’s roster.

Notably, Rum set a new World Cup record for saves within a single match, excluding matches with continued play. This record, previously held by Tim Haworth who made 16 saves against Belgium in 2014, has now been surpassed. Rum’s professional career began in 2008 with the Vitez club.

This result represents a prvi (first) point for the team in its history. The match occurred during the world competition.
