Analysis Reveals Macedonian Spring Water as Top Quality in Europe
A recent analysis of European spring water quality, conducted as part of the annual Water Quality Assessment Report, has identified Macedonian spring water as the highest quality across the continent. The study evaluated 119 monitored locations, focusing on suitability for bottled water distribution. The findings indicate that Macedonian spring water achieved a 100% rating for “excellent” water quality, meeting the stringent standards set by the European Community for such sources.
This represents a significant portion – 85% – of all bottled water sources within Europe. Conversely, Albania was identified as having the lowest quality spring water, with only 16.8% of the monitored locations assessed as meeting the “excellent” criteria. Across the European Union, 96% of monitored locations satisfied minimum quality standards.
The report highlights the ongoing efforts to maintain and improve water quality from natural spring sources. Further research continues to monitor water sources across Europe. The results underscore the importance of consistent quality control in bottled water production.
