The position will be discussed only with the authorities, but the diaspora must vote

Mediators representing VMRO-DPMNE, including Bojan Stojanovski, presented a resolution concerning the adopted budget and the framework of the Electoral Law during the Assembly. This resolution outlines several key details intended for submission to the Decade of the Macedonian Parliament. Central to the proposed framework are agreements regarding funding mechanisms, the status of the diaspora, and the definition of the electoral unit.

A crucial element emphasized is the confirmation that the diaspora will retain its constitutionally guaranteed right to vote and participate in elections. Regarding the electoral structure, the resolution confirms that the electoral unit in question is the electoral unit of the Macedonian Parliament. Furthermore, it stipulates that the precise rules governing the voting process must be formalized through a sub-legal act.

This necessary legislative refinement is slated for submission to the State Electoral Commission no later than September 30, 2028. The overall proposal aims to provide a comprehensive structure for future elections within the Macedonian political system. By detailing the funding arrangements and confirming the voting rights of the diaspora, the mediators seek to establish a clear, legally defined path for the conduct of parliamentary elections.

The focus remains on institutionalizing these procedural guidelines to ensure compliance with existing constitutional guarantees for the Macedonian electorate.
