Debar Municipality Focuses on Reclaiming Public Space
Debar, North Macedonia – The Municipality of Debar is continuing efforts to restore public spaces through the removal of illegally placed objects, according to Mayor Fisker Melja. The initiative aims to prioritize the needs and interests of the city’s residents. Speaking on June 16, 2026, at 17:30, Mayor Melja emphasized the importance of preserving public space as a foundation for the city’s development.
“Debar is probably a well-functioning, functional and beautiful city, confirming that the true development began with the preservation of the public space and that the citizens are in the interest,” he stated. The municipality’s work, facilitated by strong cooperation with local citizens, has resulted in the clearance of previously occupied areas. These spaces are now intended for public benefit.
