Man Arrested Following Assault and Child Abandonment in Tetovo
Tetovo, North Macedonia – A woman from Tetovo was physically assaulted and abandoned with her three-month-old baby yesterday, prompting a swift response from law enforcement. The incident involved V.M. (42), a resident of Tetovo, and A.S.
(37) from the village of Sarajino. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police officers acting on a report observed V.M. engaging in abusive behavior towards his wife, A.S.
The report detailed that V.M. had previously been identified as a physical abuser and had thrown his three-month-old baby onto the asphalt. Fortunately, passersby intervened, securing the infant and bringing it to the police station.
A.S.’s mother was also detained by police. Both V.M. and A.S.
are currently in custody and being processed. Authorities have been made aware of previous reports concerning V.M.’s behavior and have engaged a social worker and a minor inspector to document the situation. The investigation is ongoing.
