An international police operation targeting members of the organized criminal group “Belanoča” resulted in the arrests of two suspects. The operation spanned multiple jurisdictions, involving Albanian city of Debar and coordinated efforts from various international law enforcement bodies. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the successful police action was predicated on intelligence provided by Macedonian police.

This intelligence was gathered through cooperation involving the American Diplomatic Assistance Service (DSS) and local Albanian authorities. During the coordinated effort, one suspect, identified as M.Đ. (26), was apprehended in Skopje, while another suspect, S.N.

(34), was arrested in Norway. Both detained individuals were confirmed to be members of the criminal network “Belanoča” and were listed as international suspects facing charges related to severe criminal activities. The Ministry of Interior specified that the allegations included murder, threats of murder, causing serious bodily injury, unlawful production, and smuggling.

The involvement of Interpol underscored the cross-border nature of the investigation, highlighting the complex international police coordination required to dismantle such organized criminal enterprises. The successful execution of this joint action demonstrates significant multilateral cooperation among national and international police agencies in combating transnational crime.
