Macedonian U-20 Team Kicks Off Preparations for European Championship
Skopje – The Macedonian national under-20 football team, led by Igor Ilievski, has commenced preparations for the upcoming European Championship, scheduled for June 15, 2026. The boys gathered in Skopje, initiating training sessions at the “Jan Njendanski” Sports Center, following Ilievski’s initial call to assemble the team. The training camp is based at Hostel “Russia,” providing a central location for the squad.
As part of their preparation, the team will participate in three friendly matches against international opponents. These matches are slated for June 26 against Saudi Arabia, July 2 against Greece, and July 5 against Italy. The European Championship will be held in Rome, Italy.
The Macedonian team will compete within Group A, alongside Denmark, Norway, and Croatia. This group stage will serve as a crucial period for the ilievski boys to fine-tune their strategy and build momentum before the continental competition begins.
