THE GOLDEN BINDING OF THE HISTORY – Russia closed the borders, the Baltic lands are “wolf’s den” and bunkers!

Russia has implemented a comprehensive closure of all railway border crossings with Finland, Estonia, and Latvia. According to reports from the Russian state news agency TASS, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the directive formalizing this measure. The decree stipulates that starting July 1, 2026, movement of passengers, vehicles, and cargo will be suspended across designated sections of the Russian Federation’s northwestern border.

The closure affects multiple key infrastructure points. In addition to the primary crossings with the three Baltic states, two other border crossings located within the Pskov region are also impacted: “Pechori-Pskovskí,” situated on the border with Estonia, and “Pitalovo,” located on the border with Latvia. This action effectively halts rail traffic across these critical international arteries.

The decision marks a significant disruption to regional trade and connectivity, impacting routes that have been vital to the area’s economic history. While the stated purpose is administrative, the closure has immediate implications for cross-border commerce. Analysts note that such infrastructure measures can have binding effects on supply chains, regardless of previous agreements.

The routes in question, once considered part of the golden corridor of trade, are now subject to this temporary suspension, fundamentally altering the logistical landscape of the region.
