Fire Extinguished in Dolani Village Following Extensive Efforts
Štip, North Macedonia – A significant fire that threatened the village of Dolani, part of the Opština Štip, has been successfully extinguished following a coordinated response from multiple agencies. The blaze, which impacted a large area of forest, grass, shrubs, and low-growing bushes, was reported yesterday morning. A firefighting team was immediately dispatched to manage the crisis.
The response included personnel from the Centarot firefighting unit, the Štip firefighting brigade (four vehicles and 15 firefighters), the volunteer firefighting team (two vehicles and six volunteers), and mechanization support from the “Stijipon” unit in Štip (four tractors). These efforts focused on establishing a firebreak to prevent the spread of the fire towards the village. Additional support arrived from Radojish (one vehicle) and a drone operator, while the Directorate for Protection and Rescue deployed an aircraft and the Štip police team assisted with logistics.
According to initial reports, one villager sustained minor injuries to a light body part. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire, with witnesses indicating it was deliberately set. The firefighting operation was completed with the assistance of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue and the Štip police.
