Due to high temperatures, there has been a noticeable decrease in the number of visitors planning multi-day or repeated visits to the area surrounding Ohrid Lake, which is recognized as a key local tourist destination. According to reports from the Ohrid Municipality, initial tourist groups have begun utilizing the available tourist facilities and beaches along the Ohrid coast.
Efforts to enhance the visitor experience are ongoing. Ilija Tenov, a representative within the Municipality, noted that the entire lake shore in Star Ohrid has been thoroughly cleaned and maintained. Furthermore, the reconstruction of the pedestrian path connecting the market area to the amphitheater is currently in its final stages.
The Municipality has confirmed that all beaches are prepared, and the entire coastal area has been cleaned and paved. This infrastructure development aims to support the influx of tourists. The readiness of these amenities underscores the region’s commitment to accommodating the expected flow of visitors to Ohrid.
