The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the director of the public action “Communal” in Gostivar, along with two other individuals, were detained. This action followed an incident on October 3rd, when approximately 3,000 people required medical assistance due to symptoms indicative of water poisoning from the local water supply. Police officers from the Gostivar police station, coordinating with the main prosecution office in Gostivar, took the measure of depriving three persons of their freedom in Vrska.
The individuals detained were identified as A.A., who serves as the deputy director of “Communal” Gostivar and resides in Zdunje; V.D., the chief of “Water and Sewerage” from Fironov; and L.N., the technical director of “Communal” Gostivar, who resides in Vrutok. The detention stems from suspicions related to the water poisoning incident linked to the Gostivar water supply. Authorities stated that relevant institutions have continued their investigation into the matter.
The department presented these details following the initial public health concern.
