According to Koce Trajanovski, Director of the National Action for State Property (NASP), key updates regarding regional infrastructure development were provided, detailing timelines for several major road projects. Regarding the Kičevo-Ohrid road, Trajanovski indicated that significant progress is anticipated starting in 2024. Out of the total 57 kilometers, approximately 37 to 38 kilometers are expected to be operational.
Furthermore, access improvements are slated for completion by the end of October, allowing passage from Izvor to the tunnel leading to Vrbjani, which connects to Botoun. The final sections of the Kičevo-Ohrid road are projected to be completed by May of the following year. In other developments, construction on the Skopje-Blagoevgrad road is scheduled to commence during the second half of August.
Further work is expected in September, specifically concerning the Kičevo-Bukocani route. These developments are intended to improve connectivity across the region, benefiting both the public and commercial traffic utilizing these vital transport links. The ongoing improvements aim to enhance the overall network of roads connecting major centers like Skopje and Ohrid.
