Gostivar Police Conduct Traffic Controls, Resulting in Vehicle Confiscations
Gostivar police conducted two separate traffic controls on June 6, 2026, leading to the detention and potential confiscation of vehicles due to operating without the required driver’s permit. At approximately 11:12 am, police initiated a control on “Beličica” street in Gostivar, where a moped with unregistered plates, operated by F.T. (76) from Gostivar, was stopped.
Investigators determined that Mr. F.T. did not possess a valid driver’s permit and was subject to a freedom deprivation order under Article 297 of the Criminal Code.
The moped was subsequently detained and is slated for confiscation according to case documentation. Similarly, at 11:12 am, police conducted a control between the villages of Sheshevo and Leshko. A passenger car, an “Opel Astra,” driven by B.K.
(31) from Zhilche, was stopped. Mr. B.K.
was detained due to suspicion of operating the vehicle without a driver’s permit, also potentially under Article 297 of the Criminal Code. The vehicle was detained and is also subject to potential confiscation as part of the ongoing investigation. Both incidents highlight the police’s ongoing efforts to enforce traffic regulations and ensure drivers hold the necessary permits.
