Food and Veterinary Agency Hosts Discussion on Global Food Safety
The Food and Veterinary Agency (FVA) convened a panel discussion on June 7th to mark the 15th anniversary of its foundation and World Food Safety Day, celebrated under the theme “From cargo to solution – Food safety without borders.” The event focused on critical advancements in preventing food safety risks, ensuring animal health and welfare, and upholding public health. The discussion addressed current challenges within food safety systems and explored modern solutions for their implementation. The event was chaired by Oliver Milanov, Director of the Food Safety Agency, and featured Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of the Government of Macedonia, Ljubčo Dimitrovski.
Several presentations were delivered by key international organizations. Representatives from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), the European Commission, and the World Health Organization (WHO) shared insights and expertise. The core objectives centered on bolstering food safety protocols and identifying effective solutions for safeguarding global food supplies.
