At the Academy in Novi Sad, in the presence of the highest state representatives of Serbia and Macedonia, the Macedonian National Council in Serbia commemorated the great tragedy – 80 years since the expulsion of the Macedonians from Vojvodina. It was organized by the Macedonian National Council with the support of the Vlada of the Republic of Macedonia, and represented the more than one-month program dedicated to the history, identity and deportation of the Macedonian people in Serbia. In this regard, we spoke with the President of the Supreme Council, Zorița Mitrovic, about the significance of the tragedy, the achievements of the Supreme Council in the past two decades and the challenges that still lie ahead.
Mr. Mitrovic, what does the tragedy represent for the Macedonians in Serbia? It represents 80 years since the expulsion of the Macedonians from Vojvodina.
