The blockade of the three border crossings between Macedonia and Bulgaria has been lifted

Border Blockade Between Bulgaria and Macedonia Suspended Following Negotiations

A planned blockade of three border crossings between Bulgaria and Macedonia – Gjuhëvo-Deve Baik, Stanke Lisičko-Delčevo, and Zlatarevo-Novo Selo – has been called off. The action, initiated by the Foundation “Macedonia” led by Viktor Stojanov, was intended to raise concerns regarding the Macedonian ecosystem. Following consultations with Bulgarian Ministry of Internal Affairs officials and the Bulgarian ambassador in Skopje, as reported by Bulgarian national television BNT, the decision to proceed with the blockade has been reversed.

Details of the rationale were disclosed by Stojanov. The Foundation “Macedonia” had previously voiced concerns about potential environmental impacts within Macedonia. Notably, the group had also raised questions regarding the presence of individuals and activities within the region.

Recent reports, originating from Vecer.mk and citing Minchev’s editorial office, detailed allegations of a separate incident involving the concealment of Botox within postal packages destined for Macedonia. However, the focus of this current update remains the cessation of the border blockade between Bulgaria and Macedonia. Further investigation into the reported postal irregularities is ongoing.
