Jovan Pavlovski, Macedonian Writer and Journalist, Dies

Skopje, Macedonia – Jovan Pavlovski, a prominent Macedonian writer, publicist, encyclopedist, and journalist, has died. He was a long-standing figure in Macedonian media and academia. Pavlovski’s career spanned several decades, including his work as a long-time editor and journalist for “Nova Makedonija,” where he also served as a correspondent for publications in Paris and Moscow.

From 1980 to 1986, he lectured on journalism theory and practice at St. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. He held the position of president of the Association of Writers of Macedonia for three consecutive terms.

Throughout his career, Pavlovski authored approximately fifteen books, encompassing a diverse range of genres including novels such as “To Radiovce v kje dapboglo,” “Racino priznajenje,” “Sok od prostata,” and “Verkova na slobodo,” as well as several poetic anthologies, “Medya,” “Identitet,” and others. Pavlovski’s contributions extended beyond journalism to include publicist and encyclopedist work. He was a respected figure within the Macedonian literary and journalistic community.
